Large ship's handling and maneuvering

Simulator training course for Masters, Chief Officers and Officers on watch to control maneuvers of large ships of more than 100 000 DW (deadweight) and over 200 metrs in lenght.

STCW A-II/1 & 2 recommended use of approved training simulator.

Training in the conditions of an interactive environment with bridge-type Class A simulator for the acquisition of initial knowledge and skills in the management of large ships with different types of propulsions, the study of basic maneuvering characteristics and the acquisition of initial practical experience in carrying out the main maneuvers related to:

-          Familiarization with the equipment of the bridge;

-          Berthing and Unberthing using tugs in different weather conditions;

-          Techniques for berthing and Unberthing on a pier;

-          Maneuvering during to exit or enter in a floating dock or docking chamber under different weather conditions.

-          Acquaintance with large sea ports.

-          Basic principles for maneuvering.

-          Standard maneuvers.

-          Wind and current effect.

-          Effect of shallow water, squat effect when passing by a bank and shallows;

-          Interaction of ship and shallows.

-          Sailing in a channel and narrows.

-          Interaction ship – ship and tug - ship.

-          Anchoring.

-          FPSO and marine jetty terminal berthing

-          SBM approach and berthing
